Almost too pretty to seem as legit as it is. You should bang it up some.

LOL, actually my wife opened the case first and said "Oh...my."

I guess you mean the ethereal goodness of nitro lacquer escaping? It's the same as when you put it back in and close the lid...heavenly.

Reeltarded: Eh, pickup covers are ok, but with this setup and the new nickel parts I'd have to make it all shiny & new looking...I'm going to age the nickel parts to see where they wind up.

These PAF's came from two sources...one was a 61 SG Custom, the second I'm not sure (neck pickup). Neither came with covers, and as all of us PAF anal vintage homos know, the PAF covers are a unique, rare and expensive one.

I've got two 61 SG Standards with them, not sure I need them on this guitar. I'm guessing you have some for sale?

HeeBee, yeah, the color works. I'm going to hang it outside in the sun when I'm working in the shop, see if I can make it fade a bit more (not that it sucks where it's at now, though).

This is the end of my guitar purchases, I'm done. Hell, I'm broke after all the hospital deductibles I had to pay over the last 8 months (long, agonizing story there) anyway.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Jim

Sounds different with covers though!

What do you think about your guitar? Is it rock'n? Plug that witch in and let's hear it abuse some of your awesome speakers. :)

I think I would put the guitar in a window or something to prevent a lot of heat build up.

Fresh nitro finishes can blister in direct sunlight.

Behind modern glass it won't get any love. UV never makes it through. From just sitting under pigtails my max has lost much of it's cherry in the last 18 months. We took all the parts off my first burst and left it on a deck all summer because I wanted it to look like Page's guitar. lol no problem. It worked too. Goodbye cherry.
