Lauri,
That assumes they've setup the site to even allow this. Since it's shared, there may be 100 different sites on the same server. They may or may not even allow htaccess settings at the site level. I've not spent a ton of time digging into this mainly because I already have volunteered a ton of my time to help get the site upgraded from a really old phpbb to a more modern one, and asked for the site owner to give me a bit more control etc, and he's basically not interested in anything more than 'if people can login, it's fine' and that left me not really wanting to spend much more time into it. I've mentioned in the past I'm pretty much at the point I no longer want to do much to 'fix' what's broken because the domain owner makes it extremely hard for a person that's volunteered for free to do a lot of work but am not given the rights/access/permission to fix it correctly. I'm an I.T. professional by trade, and could probably resolve almost everything if I owned the domain and controlled it fully, but I hate the hosting provider, and have no access to the dns/domain level controls. About all I have time for lately is to activate accounts that email me saying they've not been activated after creating their account. that's a few a week, and that's about all the oomph I've got left for this.

Re: Known Problems with the Site
Thanks Phil. You have got me back in a few times and I appreciate you very much

Re: Known Problems with the Site
Thanks, Phil and Dave. If not for you two, I probably would not have access to this site. If not for the members and the unique knowledge this site shares, I would likely not take the time to be here.
Know you are appreciated.
Peace,
Jim

Looks like the site is being attacked again.
