Re: Guitar Gallery Thread! Post 'em up!
Here's a couple I've built for friends in the last 6 months.
The figured maple one is over a 100 yr old pine wood body taken from a 100 yr old hosiery mill in NC. It's called Millie.
The mahogany body one has a neck from an acoustic guitar. I ground the heel off and fashioned it a new one. 24.75" scale and the intonation is excellent. The mahogany top is also over a pine body. Ironically, I found someone was tossing away 2x12" knot free pine at the street corner so I grabbed a board.
Both guitars are hollow chambered with no f-holes.
The guitars went to guys who are great players and less than half my age. The guitars were free to them! Which was fun to be able to do. Mostly from left over projects and parts.

The article is confusing for so many of my friends. Perry says we and us meaning the idea between him and Dirk being a team. It is what Perry has done for most of his life with Dirk's money.didit wrote: ↑Sun May 25, 2025 3:32 pm Hello --

The article clearly captures confusion regarding who and whom on however Perry and Dirk mixed it up. Here's the most recent. I've always been a relic hater but I screwed up this wonderful neck (it really is great) when I tried to replace the nut. It still plays/sounds wonderful but it has that scar that I can't NOT look at. So I built a guitar with scars all over.
If you look close you can see the Rosewood on the tuner side of the but has been compromised. I tried to tap the nut out and the wood shattered into a million pieces.
I travel for work and often take this guitar with me. It's sitting in a hot car right now. Since I used acids/etc to age the metal, it has not stopped aging. It's a total rustbucket now. Looks pretty bad tbh. These pics are right after I strung it up. I'll post some horrifying photos of the way it looks now in a bit.

Note the location of the bridge pickup. It's closer to the bridge than a Warmoth HH Strat for example. Its more like a converted SSS Strat. That location makes a difference in the tone imo. It sounds more like a Les Paul which is what I like (and what EVH was after when he built his Frankenstrats).

Early brewers were primarily women, mostly because it was deemed a woman's job. Mesopotamian men, of some 3,800 years ago, were obviously complete assclowns and had yet to realize the pleasure of brewing beer.

And here's the pic of a relic job gone rogue. I guess I'll have to somehow undo some of the excessive corrosion...and maybe not leave it in a hot car so much.

Nope! You are fine. You get a bottle of Ospho and you dip a stiff nylon scrub brush in it and treat it just like vintage. it will convert the oxide to black iron phosphate and look better with more on the saddles not lessFischerman wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2026 10:06 pm And here's the pic of a relic job gone rogue.
