Gimp,
I had a major heart attack while jogging at age 47. I have 2 stents in now.
I would encourage you to do a lot of research on your own about diet and heart disease. There is much about "conventional wisdom" w/r/t nutrition that is not as set in stone as many would like you to think.
Here is my short answer to the "What changes to my diet should I make?" question - cut the carbs, especially the complex carbs. WAY down. Very little bread, very little pasta, very little potatoes, very little beans, very little rice - any grain, actually. Eliminate sweetened drinks from your diet. Increase protein and fat intake. Eating fat is not what makes you fat, is not what challenges your arteries. Excess carbs are what screw up your blood chemistry and challenge your arteries, and make you fat.
I'd be happy to take this offline at your discretion. Let me know if I can offer any help. Regardless, I wish you the best and hope you can get right back to it in short order.
Take care,
Michael
