Had to say goodbye to my dog today.

Thanks for your condolences regarding the big guy. Yesterday we accidentally came across a group for assistance dogs. Naturally I had to pat them.

While I think his thing was retrieving whilst hunting, not that I ever did any of that, he loved retrieving the ball.
He was well suited to be a assistance dog as he was empathetic enough to care for people and would have been good around a child with extreme autism, he was gentle and careful with infants, I remember him walking next to an infant making sure it didn’t wander too far from the parents in our group.

The assistance dogs were Labradors and not nearly as well trained as Auggie, maybe that is something that I will do in the future taking in assistance dogs.
