Mercury

Post by ampmike »

Well so far the new one I made blows the one I own away. Its fuller louder tighter and has more harmonic feed back.Kinda like its on roids.I dont know but the mercury's cant just be hype.A lot of great Co. swear by them.Ill tell you that Im going to have to get a alnico blue and a greenback setup one day.The sound of that cab is so clear and full. Its perfect for this circuit. No mushiness here.It just sings at full vol. and stays tight and very bright sounding.I really cant believe how well this hole project came out.I would say this it the perfect Blues Country rock amp.Im going to hate to give it away I have had a lot of jam breaks the last 2 days and just cant stop playing this thing,Mikey

6pos select

Post by ampmike »

Could you implement the 6 position select switch in say a marshall build.I think its a great little aspect and if I could footswitch it is would be real cool.
Any thoughts or would it only really work on the voxy circuit.I really like ef86 circuits. My Dr z stangray has it as well. And thats a killer tele amp.Big and loud!!!!!!Z's are cool!!.I would love to try more Z amps.Dont really see them in stores.

How many positions do you use on it?

I need a switch that will fit in the space of a jack. lol

Big-D Guitars makes a varitone for guitar that you just wire to the jack. I have one laying around that I was going to fake that knob with by sticking it on the input of an amp.

New head cab

Post by ampmike »

Hey Guys,This thing will leave this week,I have to say its a Smokin amp!!The speakers can really handle this dimed and stay tight and focused.I had to make a #2 head cab so the valence would match the studio walls that are poplar. :D Mikey
