Anyone from Hungary here?

Post by Tdale »

I'm going to Budapest in a couple of months, and was wondering if there is any good supplier of tubes there?

Any Hungarians here, that could help me?

 Oops, busted...

Yes, that's what I was thinking of. And the Tungsram Ecc83's I got years ago in Budapest were very good. And cheap too.

I know there's a small shop there catering to short wave radio amateurs.
Someone bought some stuff for me there a couple years back but I don't even know if it is in Buda or in Pest.
Perhaps you might try to find some radio hams there via the web? That's the best I can offer and it's not much...

Aleksander,

Nice meeting you at the ampshow last year, BTW. Will you be there this year too? I liked your amp, compact and full of tones.

Anyway, the shop I went to was in Buda, the old part of the city.
Unfortunately, hungarian is not an easy language for us......Tdale, I tried a couple of guitar stores in town and got lucky. good luck!

EIs are a bit more to the south, here in Serbia. I actually live in the city where they were made and I can't find any :(

I was kind of hoping I would be able to find some small, hidden stores, where I could find some really rare and exclusive tubes :) I visited an old tv/radio repairman once, and he had some old, unused, telefunken EL84 tubes that I got for free!
