Need a Little Help UPDATE!
Hey guys,
If you are the praying sort I could use some prayers for my wife Diane.
Last year around June she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
It turned out to be Papillary Thyroid Cancer, which if you get cancer there
it is the best one because it has the highest recovery rate.
It has a recovery rate of about 90% which is pretty good but the older you are the lower the recovery.
She was 55 when diagnosed.
The surgeon removed the entire thyroid gland including some lymph nodes, then a couple months later I took her up to the hospital and they gave her a radioactive iodine (RAI) capsule to swallow.
This RAI is then attracted to any remaining thyroid cells and kills them no matter where they are in the body. So if the cancer has spread, it targets them.
She had to stay in the hospital for three days because you can't be around her when she is radioactive. Sounds weird but I guess you sweat it out and they don't want anybody to have contact.
That all went well and the cancer markers showed it was a success.
Fast forward to a week ago she had another test that suggests the cancer is back.
I took her to the hospital yesterday because they gave her a small dose of RAI so they can do a whole body scan. The RAI will target any cancer cells and the scan will show where they are.
The scan is on this coming Monday.
Depending on what that shows, it is likely she will have to suffer another radiation treatment.
I ask for prayers and good thoughts for Diane, that the cancer will not have spread and that they are able to treat it successfully.
Thanks guys,
Tom

The stress is so demanding, I don't know what to say that you haven't already heard, so I'll just say it again; one minute at a time. Whatever it takes to concentrate on the positive.
This won't be the first time that something takes another go to get it right.
I can't imagine, but I can. All the best to the both of you.

Tom,
We are here in brotherhood, support and prayers for you and your wife. May the test results return with favorable news and all be well.
Take care, and once again, the best to your wife and you.

My buddy the music store owner, his wife has brain cancer, a type that never goes away. It's tough.
I joined my first church a year ago, and while I'm still struggling to fit God into my pan-theist worldview, I've discovered the power of prayer, and believe it's a positive influence for ourselves and others.
It was good to be able to say, "I'll pray for you," to another Christian. I'll pray for you and your wife, Tom.
