I'm glad to see this thread while getting ready to choose and purchase a new reverb tank for a "Blackvibe 6L6 to Deluxe Reverb (6L6WGB) with Reverb/no trem conversion project nearly finished.
Its also looking like one will need to see about picking the "best of the crappy current production reverb tanks".
I was wondering how they were getting the costs so low on these tanks. For what they are and what they are expected to do I anticipated the cost to be much higher, well, for one that is of substantial quality. Oh well.
thank you all,
Best,
Phil Donovan

Re: Fender Reverb Feedback
Not finding any toothpicks around, I did have some mica insulation pads for the semi conductor power supplies I work on sometimes for fastening power amp IC's or just power ICs to a potentially grounded heatsink source. Anyway, they seemed to do the trick (cutting them into slips with a razor). The one advantage that it gave me was that because these slips are so thin, it gave me the ability to experiment with just how many it took to fully knock down that feedback, but just over that line so that no more than needed to affect how the reverb actually sounds.
OH... And a huge thank you to those who have created this page. It's the first time I've seen it. First time using it for fixing an amplifier. Does anyone have any objections to me sharing this information on this fix for reverb feedback on YouTube, or... shall we keep this as a trade secret? I guess I should field this question to the original author of the solution. What say you?

Some don't have the ears to hear, some don't wanna give it a try... and that's okay.
