Just ordered plates today, smart pants.

And yes, that monkey on the rear plate is upside fucking down!

Thanks, Mark!

He'll be right side up when you lean over the top of the amp to hit the power switch...

Here's a recording; Sennheiser e609 on the grille, off center. No effects, no EQ. '61 reissue SG. First part with reverb is bedroom volume levels. Second part is reverb off, volume turned up to noon.

I opened up this amp because the Trem sounded weak--couldn't get the depth I want. So wanted to check the bias. It was set at 25mA per tube, or about 65% of plate diss (380 on plates). When I turn it way down, to about 18mA, the trem sounds good. But I imagine I should be able to get deeper trem with the bias set at 70%. What should I look at?

Second thing is, when the reverb output cable is connected, I get a dimple in my output sine wave (photo, top right). Unplugging the white cable's ground (but not the tip) makes this dimple vanish (but also disables the reverb). This dimple is visible after the second stage (tone stack recovery). Not a big concern, because when playing guitar, I can't hear a difference. Any ideas what is causing this?

Tremolo mods!
Added 220K || existing 1M off V4a plate to deepen tremolo
Added 0.01u || existing 0.01u off V4a grid to slow trem speed

So much moar awesome trem! Many wow!

365 on plates, biased at 25/22mA with Fender branded EHX tubes (crap poo). Putting out 12 watts clean.

Changed Celestion Blue for Jensen Jet Falcon -- Nice!

Happy dance.

No! In fact, I scoped it again after these mods, and couldn't see it.

Putting out 11 watts clean right now, using the low voltage taps on the Weber transformer, with 365 on the plates. Sounds wonderful. I tried to get some video of the pulsating blue glow on the 6v6s with the tremolo depth maxed, but couldn't capture it on iPhone. Mesmerizing.
