That would appear to be the case. I honestly don't know how the amp still sounded pretty good except for the noise. I can only imagine conditions in which I have no idea how they came together to make it work...at least work with a noise I had to deal with.

Or, tube amps are remarkably forgiving for errors.

No mystery there, it was running Class B.

To this day whenever I am installing 1/2 watt or less resistors I always confirm the value first with my ohm meter, and my eyes for being 59 are still dam good!
That extra 4 seconds can end up saving you 4 hours or more of beating yourself up and possible buying a bunch of new parts that in the end you do not need my friend !!!

Not screaming like the passengers in his car!

Typically I have my meter at my side. In this case, I either didn't check or did check and for whatever reason thought 100k was good.

I'll chalk it up to experience.

I'm with you on this, except I check every resistor with a meter, not just the little ones.

Ultimately not as clean as I was shooting for, but overall I'm okay with it. Still for some cleanup to do after trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with it.

One single 0. lol

Thanks for you help guys!!!
Nice build! I can't believe you say that isn't as clean as you'd like, that build is _CLEAN_, congratulations.

Very nice looking build.

I should pay attention to such details in my builds then I would only build one amp per year and save a shit load of cash. :)

Looks like you have the room to add a bias balance pot in there Bro!

Mark and Johnny,

Thanks. I am happy with it, don't get me wrong. Some of these guys builds look like artwork....so that was the goal. I've done some tweaking and the wires are a little less straight than they were.

Stevem,

There is room, but there was never supposed to be. That was an accident. There's supposed to be another turret there and that's where the bias range resistor was supposed to be. I missed it so I had to make the resistor share a leg with the bias pot. Confused and flustered as to why I missed that turret might have been the reason I dropped the wrong resistor in there.

I decided against taking it all back apart to add the extra turret, so I'll probably not put a balance pot in there.

Working on the cabinet now. I'm hoping to have that wrapped up this week! 8)
