Edit: CT is B+! On the secondary Black is ground and Green is hot just like it says, and the Green is the only usable speaker out, at 8 ohms.harris51 wrote:another newbie question is the center tap(tan, red) on the chart the only ground on the o t?

Re: Just got my new Marstan trannie and gonna need some help
so if black is ground and green is hot those are for the speaker connections? which are for the impedence switch?according to Marstan chart? am I just hooking to the 8ohm portion of the switch? Thank You Martin your really helping me out!

Here's my advice, spend a few hours and do some detailed JTM45 research before you proceed. You are asking many questions that you should have asked before you purchased these parts.harris51 wrote:so if black is ground and green is hot those are for the speaker connections? which are for the impedence switch?according to Marstan chart? am I just hooking to the 8ohm portion of the switch? FWIW, the RS OT was hardwired wired directly to the speakers jacks, there was no impedence switch.

That tan/red wire will connect to B+, not ground.is the center tap(tan, red) on the chart the only ground on the o t?

Harris, I've been watching this thread and NOT commenting, but I do think you are over your head and perhaps putting your health and safety at risk.

Re: Just got my new Marstan trannie and gonna need some help
I don't understand this comment. The bottom line is the RS type transformer is not designed to be used with a typical impedance selector. You pick the impedance ratio you need, wire it that way, and connect it directly to the speaker out.harris51 wrote:I geuss you told me, maybe the questions are much, but not everybody is an amp guru like you mr Manning but thanks anyway

In the "color by numbers" technique of amp assembly one doesn't have to be a "guru", just know how to interpret what you are looking at and accurately apply it. If you are struggling to understand a very well labeled PT diagram to determine which terminations are the HT connections, then surely you can see folks concern about your amp assembly skills in general.harris51 wrote:I geuss you told me, maybe the questions are much, but not everybody is an amp guru like you mr Manning but thanks anyway
Martin more than goes out to his way to help members here, so no need to get snippy with him.
