Re: Alexander
My fingers are fried - this thing is fun.
Some specifics :--
Cheap Weber chassis - thanks to Mark Fowler for the info.
TW power transformer, Weber jtm45 OT, 20H choke.
I was tinkering with 100/200k switchable on V1a anode for a gain boost.
Changed it for stage 3 cathode 220uF bypass switchable.
220uF ??? Doesn't make sense but it works.
Jana's 3rd stage input level on a switch.
Martin's Presonance - I may never use a standard presence circuit again.
Fixed bias - running around 47mA on E34L's at 409v plates.
There's a couple of extra holes - this thing will get relays / footswitch.
Thanks to all you guys & gals who got me to a point where this is possible.
I likes this thing.
Did I mention that its silent ?

One last pic.
I grounded the filament ct at the incoming ground point.
Along with the HV ct, bias supply & speaker jacks.
The screens ground is separate.
The pre-amp is grounded close to the input jack.
I ran separate grounds to each pot.

Oops - forgot -
64uF Resevoir
32uF screens
20-20-20uF pre-amp
Dropping resistors are 20k-10k-10k.

That won't work! It buzzes! You're deaf! It's not plugged in! Bad speaker!

Needs an Izod logo. Looks great!

Thanks Bruv.

Very cool build, dude. What brand are those resistors in there? Much more tootsie roll looking than the traditional CC look.
You may need to provide a clip to show us all how quiet she is...

Re: Alexander
The secret is in that single Dale.
Apparently the noise all comes from the slack side of the PI.

Re: Alexander
Might be these from Mouser.
594-5083NW100K0J
2w metal film Vishay
Not 100% sure...
Didn't have the same make in 82k, hence the noise cancelling Dale on the PI,
Reeltarded figured out my secret recipe for a zero noise floor.
Or even a hack can get lucky.
My guitar slinger should get some clips this week.
The silent bits will actually be me on guitar.
He'll just fill in the gaps.

Bob,that amp is really cool build, the fact you built it without a drawing or layout, are you you didn't work for Marshall back in the day?Thats a impressive build buddy,I wish I could try that amp.Have fun,two weeks of playing that and your fingers will be fine tuned and tough as leather.

Re: Alexander
What chassis is this? Weber 6Mx? Looks awesome!
Re: Alexander
Yup 6Mx - $30 from Weber.
Some extra holes needed, but no biggy.
Saves some $$

Re: Alexander
Cool! You have given me an itch to make a plexi-style build in that chassis.
