Same for caps.

You will hear NO difference. Be sure to record the amp in both "before" and "after" states. Using identical gear and settings. Better yet, reamp the signal.
Even caps huh? :P

I certainly wouldnt feel any difference under the fingers reamping like that

Let’s forget about everyone else; did you hear no difference when performing this testing methodology ?

Two capacitors that both have a precise value of 0.0022 uF (as an example) and also share the same ESR value and breakdown voltages are identical in performance to such a large degree that frequency response plots of the same circuit with both parts installed in it, on separate test runs, will show the response curves to differ by margins so small that they can not be detected by human hearing.

I issue this challenge to get people to INVESTIGATE what they believe and find out if it's actually real or just a myth you have chosen to believe.

If there are parts with actual "mojo" then let's see it. Let's see the evidence to back it up. Let's see WHY and HOW they are different from other parts. Let's understand the technology behind the miracle, because that's all miracles are....technology you don't understand yet.

I'm challenging you. To LEARN something. To explore, investigate, test, and find answers. Find out for YOURSELF if different kinds of parts with the same nominal values sound different, rather than just believe the dogma you've been blindly following for years.

If you prove ANYTHING, whether I'm right or wrong, I consider that a victory. For you and me both.

Wouldn't it be nice to KNOW what parts offer a specific tonal flavor, and WHY, when you decide to build a new amp? What a great tool for an amp builder to have in his toolbox!

“Blindly following” It sure would be hard to swap components if everyone was blind :P being color blind is hard enough reading resistor codes! Upside is that I have to measure every resistor anyways

“Wouldn't it be nice to KNOW what parts offer a specific tonal flavor”

yes, it sure is nice

“and WHY, when you decide to build a new amp?“

as outlined in previous comments on the forum by our members, the necessary resources to achieve this ideal scenario within a concrete scientific method would surpass the financial constraints of most people, let alone poor old me. Rather than investing all my time and energy into proving to others what a pair of working ears can inevitably discern , and then undoubtedly still be doubted and denied, I will just keep building amps using based on accumulated experience to achieve predictable results , and if I want to try something new then I will simply try it , as you said : without blindly believing and following dogma

So back to the question: what did you think when you have conducted these testing methodologies ?

Matthews Guitars, start to build something, and on 10th build you will start to understand something... with 0 experience what are you showing here all is truth , and ofcourse it is difficult to hold some point and to discuss with other people.
