Re: New Sozo caps
Being that this thread is sooo far off topic and in the vein that "nobody cares", I will add this to the last post. When I was young in the 60's I remember the massive Western Electric Hawthorne facility as my grandfather was an engineering manager there and had something like 450 engineers under him. The sheer number of engineers in itself is mind boggling, never mind that there were 45,000 total workers employed at it's peak.
The one thing that sticks out in my memory is picking up a rectangular shaped, deep drawn metal cased capacitor can that my grandfather held a patent on. The memorable thing was how warm the case was after it was deep drawn in the press - which was spitting the cap cans out like candy. IIRC, it was about the size of a pack of smokes, maybe a little narrower.
Sad part was that in the 60's it was common place for people to be force retired at an age of 65, my grandfather had much left to give - but sadly was retired at 65.
In the early mid-70's the anti-trust suit of Ma Bell split up WE and the closure of Hawthorne began. It became defunct in the early 80's and now the location is a shopping mall in Cicero, IL.
Biggest single factory building I ever worked in was 660,000 square feet which paled in size to Hawthorne... Sadly, the US has lost it's manufacturing might.

Who cares (re billyoung's blathering)
Really. When the rest of the band is playing or the studio engineer is EQing holes so the vocals don't get stomped on......who the fuck cares.

I think if you re-read the thread, you'll be forced to recognize that my regret preceded yours and everyone else's. But you're level of regret may exceed mine... but I doubt it.

Re: New Sozo caps
Bill, your responses have most of us thinking you are someone who was previously almost hung at sunrise by about half of the amp forums and is a complete douche.
If you are not that person, so sorry. If you are that person, my condolences.

Re: New Sozo caps
I agree. Everyone replying to your posts should have a minimum aimless, rambling, incoherent word count of at least 500 words per posted reply. We've obviously insulted your intelligence by not responding to you as you have to the entire forum.billyoung wrote:I regret posting here , try to remove as much as I can.

You got a couple of days to let us all rectify that, sir? Please? Would you then come back and read our posts in response to yours? Please?
