My Komet has been a favorite by the guys looking for amps; however, the younger guys seem to be gravitating towards the four gain stage Marshall tone Like Splawn QuickRod or Nitro.
Add a pedal board infront of the Komet 60 and you can hold your own in a band. It was too loud for my band so I have been running the Reverb Rocket mostly. Dana Hall has a nice foot switching system for the Komet either for the K50 Concorde or K60. I really didn't have the room to put that in this amp.
I built as per the plans with a couple of subs for close value in the power supply are alone. I am planning on biasing V1 with diodes and bypassing the plate resistors on V1 with 500pf's in an attempt to quieten down the first stage a bit and cut down on some percieved oscillations. It has a bit of high frequency bite at mid to high volumes which iI can hear surprisingly as I am dead around 15k on up.
