I bought a pair of shoes from a drug dealer the other day. I dunno what he laced them with but I’ve been tripping all day,

Evan posted it on FB, so I lifted it.

Re: I wish him success
Unfortunately, my last name happens to be Bieber. It is spelled wrong in the pic BTW. I have two teenage boys that suffer from this Justin Bieber shit. I get messages on my answering machine asking if I am Justin's father, uncle, relative, blah blah blah. My kids take shit all the time. God, I love Hendrix and I wish he could help me out on this one.
The one good thing is that most people pronounce my name correctly instead of saying Byeber all the time. Still, I'd love to hurt that little bastard.

I feel compelled to confess how I misunderstood this adolescent phenomenon. My teen-aged daughter has, for a year or three, been a fan of that kid. But I had it all wrong. Every time she said Justin Bieber .... it sounded to my ear like she was saying "Just In Beaver" ..... much to my horror. I thought it was a teen-boy-band. I know better now ..... but for a while there I couldn't understand how/why my wife wasn't as mortified as I was.

Time will take care of this all on it's own. Very few are able to sustain teen fame into adulthood in a good way.

I was thinking that the spelling was incorrect. I feel your pain for having the same nom-de -plume so to speak.

I must say, I don't understand the idea that because you like one kind of music that you have to put down another. If Jimi were here today I do not think that he would approve of the use of his image in this manner, he was about love. You see this kind of anti Justin Bieber comment in a lot of videos on Youtube that have nothing to do with him, and I just chalk it up to childish Jealousy. I have 3 young daughters who went through a bit of a phase about him ; my youngest told me she doesn't like him any more because he says "baby" too much in his songs, which is too bad because he seems like a nice kid to me and G rated - there is a lot of crappy ugly pop music out there that I would prefer they not listen to until they are older ( or never really ) So, he is what he is - I don't care for his music myself, but music isn't a contest. To each his own.

Oh yeah, there are much worse bands or rappers your kids could be listening to rather than the current batch of teen idols.
We, the baby boomers, had rock N roll to rebel with.
Our parents hated it for the most part although I did have a few friends whose parents liked a lot of the "modern" stuff back then.
My dad was old school and if wasn't "Big Band or Swing", music (Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, etc) it wasn't fit to listen to.
So I heard a lot of "Turn that Shit Down", when I was a kid.

My father hated Bob Dylan. And this was before Dylan went electric!
He also didn't like JFK because Joe Kennedy was a "rum runner".
But he thought the sun shone out of Churchill's ass 24 hours a day.

My Daughter makes this face when I mention Justin Beiber
and sticks out her tongue . But her then again her favorite band is the Beach Boys, of which Hendrix did not "dig"...
My drummer used to have an Ampeg V4 that I would use for the occasional gig, we replaced the burned out power switch with a coin-op dryer timer. It was funny to have the guitar cut out part way through a song and bum the audience for change to finish the song. Ah the good ol' punk rock days...
