Thanks for sharing!
Great sound and playing!
Do you have more clips?
May I ask one question: is it really 2-4 µF (not nF?) from EL84 Anode to gnd?
Peace,
Markus

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
This is really interesting. I had been hoping that something like this would come along, but had just about given up. I was intending to get one of these
http://www.ampmaker.com/store/Double-Si ... ifier.html
and had been thinking about how to add in an o/d section.
Since I'm not terribly knowledgeable about things electronic, and I've only ever built kits, a scratch build is probably beyond my abilities, but I think I could just about manage to do something like this especially if I could use the output section of the Double Six kit.

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Markus, you are right it's 2 to 4nF depending on your Taste.
Thank you for the correction.
At the moment I don't have more Clips available. What are you interested in?
@10thTx: could you correct the schematics accordingly?
Thanks in Advance.

No distortion means to tone.
Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Thank you for the information.
How much is the secondary HT Voltage value of it?The PT I have taken out of an old Radio
Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
If you happen to have the chance to record a clip with Strat that would be great.honeydip wrote:Markus, you are right it's 2 to 4nF depending on your Taste.

One more question: how do you like the tone control of the clean channel when in OD?
Thanks again for sharing your work!

Markus
Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
2-4µF on the cap on the EL84 plate to ground.
Tom
Don't let that smoke out!

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
What does that mean?2-4µF on the cap on the EL84 plate to ground.
Per earlier post request, ............... I already changed the schematic to reflect a .002-.004 cap from EL84 plate to ground?
What should it be?Markus, you are right it's 2 to 4nF depending on your Taste.

I'm sorry, you are right and I was blind
The schematic is correct.
Thank you.

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
I am understanding this to be that the currently posted schematic is correct? I changed it to the current one after you requested me to do so.I'm sorry, you are right and I was blind
The schematic is correct.
Just post a reply if it needs to be changed from the current schematic, otherwise, I will presume it is currently correct.
Thanks, 10thtx
Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Oh Snap!
Sorry my bad, I missed the n part on the 2-4
Which translates to .002-.004µF
Us Yanks aren't used to nano farads so much as micro and pico.

I've noticed that, I always did not understood why the hell, instead od 0.1u couldn't be 100nStructo wrote:Us Yanks aren't used to nano farads so much as micro and pico.

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Nice sounding little amp, thanks for sharing. Thank you 10thtx for the drawings.
A couple of points of interest on the drawings:
1) I do not see the 220k/500pF that stands between the volume wiper and grid (pin 7) of V1b on the layout. It's on the amp's picture so it should be there.
2) The trim pot entrance value to V2a grid (pin 2) is shown as 100k on the schematic, it's 220k on the layout. Which is correct?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Go with the schematic which should be correct.
100k trim pot
220k/500p can be placed on the volume pot wiper or on the tube socket V1-7.
I don't actually plan on building this amp even though it's a great amp. I simply tried posting a schematic that was easier for others to read.

Re: Violeta - a single Ended Story
Thank you for clarifying 10thtx, and thanks again for taking your time to make the drawings.
