Here is an interesting pic. It is taken from the rear chassis of a Gibson Saturn I worked on this past week.

I know it is purely speculation that it was indeed Howard who serviced (modded!) this amp but who else but Howard would be anal retentive enough to put the exact time of day!!!!
What possible purpose would the time of day serve?
I could imagine him somewhere (the mall perhaps) and his watch beeps.
"Oh it's time for that Saturns caps to go bad right about.....NOW!"

Nope, I doubt it. He never would have scratched it in with so little care for looks. That was done by a slob. Besides, he had stickers.

Lets see the wiring
If he worked on it there will be little shiny puddles of solder on the chassis for grounds.
I agree though he wouldnt scratch his name in, he would use a sticker or sharpie with a nice signature
