Post by playonit »

I feel dumb asking this.. probably since I already know the Answer... Can I lengthen an output transformer wire by a couple of inches? Mine came up a bit short.... needs to make it to the socket on the left.....

Yes just make a good mechanical connection solder and cover with shrink tubing.

i was working a solar installation job and heard about a journeyman who told his apprentice to go and fetch the wire stretcher, he comes back with the foreman who yells "dont F* with my rookies!"

not calling you a rookie just reminded me of a funny story

Oh yeah, fun with newbies.

Did many variations of that over the years.

Since I was a plasterer I would often send the new kid for a trowel extension.
More often then not, they would come back with a sanding pole......

This. And make sure you use the same gauge wire, or one click heavier if you have to. Two layers of heat shrink please.

Reminds me of watching the QB challenge back in the day, and Brett Favre asked the ball boy to find him a left-handed football.

Splice it up like this with similar gauge wire and two layers of heat shrink and you'll be good to go:

By the way, don't stare at the pic in this link too long, it will make your brain hurt.
