9K-bucks, only because maybe still some finger prints from Mr. Magic are on the amp

It's a Komet!!! Not a Trainwreck 8)

Bad photos! No photo from inside :?

Better keep off and build yourself 5 other amps with the saved money

That's your opinion.

I own 5 real Wrecks

Express
The Dirty Little Monster
The Original 15 Trainwreck Prototype
Liverpool
Komet (one of a kind)

Oh, correction

4 Wrecks and 1 Ken Fischer owned/modded/and logged Komet

By the way, there are more than fingerprints on that Komet. Ken really worked on that amp. He had it for over a year and did lots of experiments and circuit mods and refinements to that amp some of which became standard mods that Komet 60 amp owners incorporated.

hey wrecked, which one of those is the 15watts prototype and which is the dirty little monster?

Also could you give us more input on the 15w prototype while we're at it, thanks.

Isn't there another name missing from this quote?

I did not place a negative comment.

But I do feel the need to stand up to that kind of negativity displayed in the 2nd posting.

Hi wreckboy, welcome to the forum. Your collection of wrecks is incredible. I would love to hear the history of your collection. I am especially intrigued with the Dirty Little Monster. That is like a single-ended wreck, correct? What power tube/tube complement does it use? How would you compare it to an Express? Does it also bloom like an Express?

Please understand, I'm not asking you for schems or gut shots, I'm just really curious about the history and evolution of Ken's designs.

I suppose the dirty little monster uses a kt88/6550 and is the one with the wreck type cabinet and the labels on the controls, and the 15w prototype is the one on the green cab with a fender type chassis...

nice amps, thanks for the pictures

IMHO, wreckboy's on target. Certain things got called into question by post #2, and I sure wouldn't let them go unanswered.

Enough said, suggest all let it lie.

Guys, thanks for the support.

I've got to leave in a minute but I'll post more information/history on my background with Trainwrecks later.

Is that the pre-ginger prototype made for Casper McCloud? If it is, I'll say that's quite a collection you have there.

Ha, and I suppose even if it isn't, that's still quite a collection you have there. Can't wait to hear the history behind it all.

I agree!

Nice collection wreckboy! My question is where/how did you get all those? Impressive [img:18:25]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v521/ ... py_164.gif[/img]

Welcome to the forum WB, I hope you hang around long enough to see what’s going on here. Just a bunch of people having fun building some of the greatest amps ever made & part of that "fun" is trying to decode the magic & mystery that went into kens amps. Ken himself acknowledged this forum and even condoned its existence as long as it was not for monetary profit. Some of the amps in your possession have been more of a mystery to us than a reality. So I hope you check in from time to time & help answer some long debated questions. To me you would be helping keep Kens dream alive and give more people the opportunity to enjoy these great amps.

JOE

As a side note - Im sure you are aware that from time to time there are listings on E-bay that claim to be the "real deal" by people who are attempting to cash in on the TrainWreck name. I dont think Larry meant any harm & only wanted others to be cautious, Larry builds some darn fine amps himself.

Hi wreckboy, I think no one wanted to offend you but you sould agree that it's not so difficult to change some parts, put something written (or even a small signature) and sell at double or 3 times higher... specially on ebay.
If someone is interested and knows you I think he won't think twice to buy it, but it's not easy for everyone for 2 things: price and distance from you.
price: not everyone can afford a fanatstic amp like this and have to go on with clones
distance: for example I live in Italy and in my experience the biggest part of people here are quite sceptic to buy fom internet and specially something thay can not test or see... I tested it selling some of my guitars or effects.

anyway good luck!!!

When you have time, I (sorry, we) will be very glad if you can share your experience with wrecks and your opinion about the difference between the 4-5 monsters you have.

I'm very interested in learn something about the dirty little monster (I rememeber to have read somewhere only the name) and its sound compared to a standard express..

Thanks in advance
