Oh, I see.
Well, don't know what amp do you have in mind, but now you have a beast of a transformer, if you decide to use "full wave" 2 diode rectification.
If you were building a 50W amp, now you can add 2 tubes (if filament supports it) and build a 100 .
Or if you don't need more power, the now overspecified one will run cooler.
So not really "wasted" money by any means.
