20 watt 2204 Combo Build
This started out as a Super Drive build, but I converted it to a 2204 preamp mated to a 2-6V6 power section:

I am currently using a Scumback M75LD 65 watt 16 Ohm in that combo. It sounds awesome! Very happy with the results....

That couldn't have come out any nicer. No flux residue anywhere, so what's your secret?
DC heaters? Did you find you need them or just planned it from the start?

Awesome build! I really like the 2 tone colour on the combo, green and white really go well together. Was the 2 tone hard to do?

I clean with 99.99% Alcohol as soon as I finish the joint. Standard AC heaters, I really pay attention to lead dress and ground points.rp wrote:That couldn't have come out any nicer. No flux residue anywhere, so what's your secret?

That was a Reinhardt Combo cab I repurposed. I bought it used from a guy who put his into a head format.Guy77 wrote:Awesome build! I really like the 2 tone colour on the combo, green and white really go well together. Was the 2 tone hard to do?

Try acetone, the stuff from the hardware store not nail polish remover, better than alcohol. It does help to remove the flux while it's still warm but I just don't have the patience like I used to, but I do try to clean up the worst when I'm all done.fusionbear wrote:I clean with 99.99% Alcohol as soon as I finish the joint.

Nothing like listening to Jimi on a Sunday morning.
Sounds great.
Fusionbear, can you explain the power section, was this from your Naylor build?
I have been wondering what to build next, and this sounds great.

That sounds fantastic ! I'm just getting ready to do a very similar build. I may have a question or two for you, if you don't mind.
