5/16 Tip Jack Part Number

That part # drawing still looks to be 1/4 to me not 5/16.

I have the same chassis in my shop I will test fit the Cinch to it.

The outsize deminsion is .375" so it will cover any excess. I use the banana jack version of this same test point. So I can test fit it later, still at my day gig.

Just looked at CE's drawing on the chassis. According to that the hole size is 0.25" x 3 locations.

Guys, I assumed Smitty was referring to what we normally call here at TAG the "CE chassis", it has the four 5/16" D test point holes on the floor.

Yes I was assuming the CE chassis was the Dumble chassis like the one I built.

I have generally drilled my own bias pin holes on the back apron of the CE chassis as they are more easily accessible.

I have always used the .080" pin type because then I don't have to change the pins on my DMM.

Most of these jacks have plastic bodies, but the best ones I have used were made by Pomona, a quality company, and had gold plated steel bodies. US-made. These use the 1/4" chassis hole.
Also more than adequate are the Cinch metal bodied ones, which have a gold plated solder pin. These use the standard 1/4" hole.

I got both from Mouser, see pic w/P/Ns. Oddly, the Pomona are a little cheaper than the Cinch. Neither are real cheap though.

Here is the way I implement the Bias set up on the Super Overdrive II and Overdrive Deluxe amps.

Simple and works. The spacing is 3/4" so a standard banana plug fits between the test points.

Bias adjustments are 10 turn pots behind the grommets.
