D-lator
I thought I'd let you all know I posted pics of a Point to Point Loop in the files section, and Later today I will get more of a "tutorial" going. I figured I'd tell everyone it is up there, since I almost never go into the files section, and I figure alot of folks don't either.

Re: D-lator
What can I answer for you? It is pretty straight forward but the layout makes it look more complex than it is.

Re: D-lator
I have one question about the loop part of the circuit. On the cathode follower stage, did you use 1.5k/10k Rk's, or did you use the 1.8k/27k that I think I've seen mentioned here a few times?
I'm having a difficult time making it out of the photos on my laptop. The color codes don't show up on my screen very well.
Oh yeah, one more question, what's your plate voltage on each triode?
Thanks again for the photos and information!

Grack, it's been a nights sleep and most have left the building
Why did you ground the filter caps at the loop/input common ground, and not the mains ground? Or at least some point -not- with the loop/input?
Also, will your tutorial include the power portion of the circuit, or is there another layout posted that I'm skipping?

Re: D-lator
I used the 1.8k/27k(24k actually) the cathode of the other side has a 1.3k/47uf.
I followed the original ground scheme. The first caps ground at the mains, the second and third ground at the point near the board.
THere is a picture in the files section of an original dumbleator power supply posted by tylerblaster, that is what I used, but I will post pics of the underside of the boards as well.

Re: D-lator
thats good info. jelle was suggesting something similar to me, but I did not quite get the point at first mention.I used the 1.8k/27k(24k actually) the cathode of the other side has a 1.3k/47uf.
I have been thinking it would be nice to get a bit more gain from the CF side. I have built 3 or 4 dumbleators, and the CF seems to suck a bit of gain away, whereas in my mind the CF should at least be at equilibrium gainwise when run full throttle. Then again maybe thats an uneducated pipe dream.
oh, thanks funk...as always you have great info and are always willing to share.

Re: D-lator
well yes and no.THe recovery stage should put it all back, no?
I often put 2 switches on my built in dumbleator, 1 for cf, other for gain, allowing either side of the tube to be run independently. It opens up the tonal possiblities quite a bit, but also leads me to want to tweak/redesign the cf side for an equilibrium in gain whether its off, or on and maxed out. Mainly so I can switch in and out the cf without adjusting volume. I guess I could add an internal trimmer, and tone down the non-cf mode, but that seems like a waste of tone.

Re: D-lator
The trannies are in stock, $35 ea, there is a post in the for sale section.
How in depth a tutorial do we need? full on step by step or just pics of the backs of the board?
