See I could never get my High Plates to squeal like that (3:30) when he digs in up high.My low plates can get that no problem. Especially with a Tele
That is classic low plate response IMO

If you are hauling one to gigs - YES.
IMHO have always thought they enhanced bloom and sustain. Perhaps smooth out the overdrive a bit depending on your gain staging. Henry @ RedPlate built me a combo a long time ago that has send and return pots on the back for the loop - and the master on front is on a switch pot that pulls out to defeat the loop. Very quick and easy to A/B with and without loop to see how it is affecting things.

To Marks OP: it cannot be a clone if it has the loop. Duh.

You know what I'm talking about Jelle. I refer using the Dumble circuits. If I put the amp and the Dumbleator in one chassis I'm still using Dumble circuits.
I'm surprised HAD hasn't done this with his newer amps such as the Angel Breath.
Yours Sincerely

My Welagen Overdrive Special amp have the tube buffered loop built in. I agree with you.

no sweat, I wonder why HAD went down the path he did given he would possibly have ground loop issues with his amps.

Steve, what is the third switch on the Dumbleator? Bright for recovery send or lnfb defeat?

Meh, what does that reply have to do with the topic?
I didn't see any particular reference to onboard effects loops. Though I concede I skimmed through it.
Do you own the amp or are you selling them?
Yours Sincerely
