Been reading about the Dumble and D'Lites for sometime now. I've seen versions that have been built with 6V6, 6AQ5, 6L6 & EL34 tubes.
Has anyone built an EL84 version? Could you direct me towards a schematic and/or layout of one?
Thanks, 10thtx

Re: 18w EL84 D'Lite??
I have not built one as of yet. But I have a Blues Junior that looks like a candidate for an exorcism.10thTx wrote:Been reading about the Dumble and D'Lites for sometime now. I've seen versions that have been built with 6V6, 6AQ5, 6L6 & EL34 tubes.

Re: 18w EL84 D'Lite??
I built one in an 18watt lite chassis (6"x14"). I didn't spend much time playing or tweaking it, but IIRC, it wasn't too bad. Sorry, no schematics or layouts. I pretty much did it on the fly.

18w D'Lite
Normster,
Man, that is a nice looking amp! Great job with it. It looks like you used a rectifier tube with it? Correct?
I don't have any plans to build this amp, but was pondering what a D'Lite front end might be like with an 18w power section.
I would NOT expect it to sound like a D'Lite but was thinking it might still be a good sounding amp with nice overdrive and sustain?

Re: 18w EL84 D'Lite??
I built one about a year before this forum came about. Unfortunately I hated the results. Normster I am sure got much closer. Mine was quickly rebuilt into other circuits...ymmv
