RIP, thanks HAD for all the inspiration and the huge rabbit hole I hope to come out of one day.

Repose en paix M. Dumble. Tu auras rarement connu la paix sur cette terre, à part peut-être au fond de ton atelier ?

noo... RIP mr Dumble legend...
Re: The Legend has passed
To qoute a Lowell George song: "I read the papers and got the blues, so sad to hear the news..." I have been a Dumble user since 1979, playing my beloved Overdrive Special (2nd gen) in clubs, bars, churches, jails and recording studios, and will continue to do so. I corresponded with Mr. Dumble from 1986 until 1990, and he was always kind and helpful. Rest in peace, big man

Re: The Legend has passed
Shocked yesterday when I read the news.
He was the common denominator in all the great musicians I loved for tone and expressiveness, way before I heard about his amps or knew about the man himself.
I got into building amps because of him, studying his ideas and designs and chasing those fantastic tones.
I don't know many amp designers that inspired so many of us to dive into the rabbit hole and build amps. HAD did!
Thanks and Hats off Mr Dumble.
RIP
Fred.

Thank you Mr. Dumble.
Re: The Legend has passed
I'm grateful that Dumble never (seemingly) hit anyone with a cease & desist letter because his work helped so many of us learn, achieve "that sound" in our head, and enlightened us with each leaked gut shot or schematic that he could have taken action on. Some even started their own businesses following in his footsteps with that information.
On that point, let us collectively celebrate and liberate his work by sharing yet-to-be-seen information/gut shots/schematics of Dumble amplifiers, rack pre-amps, and pedals. Hopefully his notebooks are copied and made freely available to "make the air electric" in his honor.
Thank you, H. A. Dumble.

Re: The Legend has passed
God Speed HAD and thanks for all the great designs and inspiration.
God Bless You.
I am a late comer to Dumble amps, having finally realised 10 years ago that all those wonderful amp sounds, I have heard for decades, were coming from H. A. Dumble.
I then fell down the "Dumble Rabbit Hole" also, using his inspiration and design ideas in my amps and to modify clients' amps.
I am now about to build 2 complete Dumble amps following his schematics and the expert advice available from this forum.
