2204 chassis deminsions
Does anybody have any chassis deminsions or blueprint for the 2204? Specifically the bat switch type faceplate?
Re: 2204 chassis deminsions
The chassis that Mojotone sells measures 27 inches wide by 6.5 inches deep by 2.5 inches high (686 x 165 x 63.5 mm). They say on their website that those are the original Marshall 2204 chassis dimensions. If you do a Google search you will see the dimensions on the Google search preview, but if you go to the website the dimensions are not published.
I have seen others post the same dimensions for ones they've built.

Re: 2204 chassis deminsions
I'm looking for the faceplate measurements, the locations to drill the holes.
My build is gonna most likely use the mojotone 18 watt/jtm blank chassis.

I want to put that into a small box head cab. I'm using AA Electronics PCB and JCM800/2204 stand up iron from amp parts direct.
I want to fit the pots in the correct place on the chassis so they will look correct when installed in the small box head.
I'm planning on etching a faceplate from aluminum or possibly brass, so I gotta be able to print out an etching mask.

alkuz I appreciate that. I can make that work. I'm not going for vintage correct, just wanting it to fit.
If I were to remove two of the input jacks on that drawing and recenter the rest accordingly, would that center the controls in the opening of an 18 watt head cabinet?

It's metal. It's drilled. It's cheap. Marshall just put plates that covered unused holes on their amps.

Re: 2204 chassis deminsions
Well I bought the chassis and faceplate.
One thing I'm concerned about is the fact I bought the Heyboer APD-8032H choke.
The APD-8023H power transformer and APD 8025A-H output transformer also.
Im hoping the four hole choke is a good choice. I will have to drill to mount it.
I'm gonna start a build thread or change my other thread. I'm gonna need help on this one. I have ZERO marshall experience. Never even owned one. Hence the reason for building it.

This is the old Metroamp layout that I used for my 2204. This should help you along with your build.

5h choke is good to go.

How is it going with the build? Curious to see my PCB in actiondragonbat13 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 15, 2023 3:13 pm I'm looking for the faceplate measurements, the locations to drill the holes.
