Got some troublesome news from european amp builder Fx, who has been threatened by some claimed lawyer from Vox pressing him to destroy any production amp with a Vox-style grillcloth on it and also give all sort of informations about any of his amps having a Vox-style grillcloth on it ...
Attorneys, that's the word I was missing. They just threaten him. Well, I am not sure they would have been able to sue him, for he leaves outside UK and the brexit ... plus they don't seem to impress much US amp builders ...
@bepone : for example in France, it is illegal to run tuning parts for car engines but you can buy them almost freely ... for racing use ...
(actually I remember having read somewhere that the grillcloth was just to repair Vox amps)
I meant how far from your country can you enforce trademark protection ?
Not sure a lot of companies would manage to protect their trademark on the internal market of China, for example, plus from outside the US, US citizens appear to be fairly out of reach ...
(for the best etc)

Kind of reminds me of Dimarzio's patent for cream colored Humbuckers. How can you patent a color? There is no such thing, it is a visual perception.
We can laugh at LD.

I'm tempted to regrill a few amps to use diamond cloth to send vox the one finger good luck symbol. But I find the diamond grill ugly and aesthetic killing.

There are a million ways to troll.. and one is to make their trademark a generic term for something disgusting.
I don't have any suggestions. I need to go take a Vox.
