It’s not just you. There have been intermittent outages during the day, of all or part of the forum.
(Not sure who the system admin is but they do a great job. Happy to lend a hand if any help is wanted)

Same here, it's been very intermittent

I have been experiencing this too, started last week when I couldn't use the advanced search function.
Hope it gets resolved soon.

Same here. Sometimes it comes up ok, sometimes it appears as a 500 error. Seems to work better on my desktop than when I try to access it on my phone.

I'm getting a lot of 500 errors recently

Just here to concur yes the site has been going down for me too. I would also be happy to help with any sysadmin stuff and help iron out any issues. I've been pretty nervous to see the site become unstable - there is no substitute for this site on the internet.

I'm the site admin, I'm a Linux SRE that does this for my job. The problems are due to the fact that the site is on shared hosting. I'm assuming that they're likely due to the hosting provider making some changes causing issues/outages.
The domain owner has control over the domain and pays for the site and domain registration, I only have some admin creds to the hosting service to manage it. Due to the fact that it's shared hosting, that may be why at times the server is unhealthy and has periodic issues like this. I did purge the phpbb app cache yesterday after others mentioned they've been having issues as well. That may help but I can't promise anything.
I don't really need any technical assistance. If I could host this myself on a non shared server and have full OS control I'd be in a lot better situation, BUT I can't.
Effectively I've been spending a lot less time on the site maintenance lately because my attempts in the past to get more control over things like DNS to fix the site email problems etc were rebuffed.
At this point, there's not a ton that can be done unless the site/domain owner is interested in doing more, I've somewhat distanced myself from it after a couple discussions with him to ask if I can fix it and he said he's not worried about the site email working etc.
Apologies for the issues, but also, not a ton I can do other than get on the phone with a hosting provider I don't pay, for a service they don't do super well, and deal with it like I have many times in the past (with all of my time volunteered mind you. The multiple years of this has taken its toll and I'm rather burned out on it).
Xtian has taken over as the main moderator/admin for basic stuff and he and a few others here know how to get in touch with me if something more critical is down, but I just have so much less time to volunteer on the site nowadays.
If I was in full possession of all the ability to fix this and was permitted to do so, I definitely would but I'm no longer wanting to muck about in a half state.
end rant
