Love the suede finish. Congrats!
I am also a fan of the Celestion G12-65 speakers for this amp.
The EV12L and the Celestion V Type 70 also sound amazing with this amp.
I see Dorrisant mentioned the Eminance 12N. I like that this speaker is lighter.
I will have to give that one a try. It would be a great alternative to the heavy EVM12L !
Cheers

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm using a Celestion Gold in there right now but I have a WGS12L from Guitar Warehouse Speakers that I'll try just to compare and contrast.

Hi to all,
I use an EVM 12-L, or a Celestion G12-65 and two Celestion Blue Alnicos sometimes and only for testing and at low volume. I think the Celestion Gold for an amp with 2 6L6s is fine.
I don't particularly like neodymium speakers.
I prefer the Celestion G12-65 and I find that with the EVM 12-L and the Blue Alnico this amp becomes too "Fenderoso" but with the Celestion Gold I think it would sweeten or color a bit.

Thank you for the feedback Franco. I have a WGS ET65 on the way that I'm going to try too.I use an EVM 12-L, or a Celestion G12-65 and two Celestion Blue Alnicos sometimes and only for testing and at low volume. I think the Celestion Gold for an amp with 2 6L6s is fine.

Thanks! I CNC engraved the aluminum, color filled it with black paint, and then sanded off the excess.Looks absolutely incredible! How did you customize the faceplate?

Is this the wonderland overdrive layout? I’m planning to build my first amp so I’m wondering what sound I should expect from this layout.amplifiednation wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2017 1:46 am Enjoy, I'm pretty sure the layout is free of errors but proceed with caution. These are beautiful sounding clean amps with a big reverb.
Transformers are standard Twin Reverb fare...including choke and reverb driver.
This is a clone of an "out of production" amp I had some time with many years ago. The original had RG316 coax. Absolutely fantastic tone with a strat.
Thanks TAG!

I don't know the TR lineage in detail, but maybe this list will help: https://vicdillahay.com/2015/04/a-list- ... he-km-era/ There is only one JM signature model in the list.
I would expect this to be a challenging project for a first-time amp builder.
Re: AN Wonderland/JM 100w layout
I was wondering about the two "dirty" switches on the Dirty Wonderland (somebody asked before about it on the thread), Taylor's answer was about negative feedback lifts.
So basically one would be a LNFB on the second gain stage and the other a GNFB?
I was thinking on adding a GNFB switch to the amp, as I do on Fenders where I disconnect the ground switch from the circuit.
I was listening to this R.J. Ronquillo clip on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSOmC0yfPG0 and I like a lot what the two switches add to the sound. I like this edge of break up sound that the amplifier provides.
I'm also thinking about the 120K mixer resistor that is mentioned on this thread: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34437 by norburybrook. I have the sensation too that the amp isn't loud enough. It sounds great for sure, but is kind of quiet for a 100 watter.

Re: AN Wonderland/JM 100w layout
Pretty sure the quiet is because of the 68k to ground dumping a lot of the signal. Some folks will add a trim pot here to up the "gain" and will definitely make the amp loudercaesparza wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 11:47 am I'm also thinking about the 120K mixer resistor that is mentioned on this thread: https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34437 by norburybrook.
