tiny chicken head knobs??
The spacing on the Brownnote D'Lite chassis I bought is too tight for regular chicken heads -- they hit each other. I'm using Marshall knobs, but they're hard to see. I was wondering if anyone knows of any mini version chickenheads? And if so, where I can get a set??
Thanks,
Mark.
Thanks,
Mark.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
Check this part number at McMaster-Carr: 6094K54. It's a little smaller than normal chicken-head knobs.
6094K89 is even smaller, but not a "proper" CH.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
Mark, this is what I chose to do.
I wanted cream chicken head knobs but like you I found the spacing of the pots too close on my D'Lite 44.
So I bought my second choice.
Vintage cream Fender knobs.
If you shop around you can find decent prices.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
Thanks, Structo. That actually looks pretty nice. The frustration with the Marshall knobs is, they're hard to see the indicator, and they're so small it makes my nice Alpha pots feel cheap.
I'll have to check out CEDist.com for their prices.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
They exist...Big Mike had some.
Chickenhead with a shorter tail...I haven't been able to find them.
If you do locate a source, please give a heads up.
As you probably know the hole spacing is 1 1/8" center to center.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
Ampdoc, I had some this size (1 7/32") in my parts stock and they're still too big. Thanks, though. These guys overlapped each other pretty substantially.ampdoc1 wrote:Check this part number at McMaster-Carr: 6094K54. It's a little smaller than normal chicken-head knobs.

Brownnote, thanks for the input! Maybe someone out there will come up with some. I'm going to check Dough Hoffman's site, but I don't think he has anything this small.

I also would like to know if anyone finds smaller ones. Thanks, folks!

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
I found some at Angela that i'd call "chicken beak", on their knobs page, next to the last pic down.
Also, these are on (German??) eBay. Not too expensive in quantity.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
Interesting... kind of "industrial" looking, don't you think?

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Davies knobs. You can get cheap asian copies
http://www.smallbearelec.com/Categories ... 7&total=40
or the real thing at Mouser (black only).
Personally I like 'em alot, and think Marshall-style knobs suck for reason mentioned. May as well turn the bare shaft.

Re: tiny chicken head knobs??
I'm not sure what size they need to be, but the knobs I bought from Hoffman are 1 1/4" and they are WAY too big. They overlap maybe 1/16" or more on either side.ApexJr. wrote:Can someone post a size that the small ones should be...
