New Guy
Hello Everybody. A friend told me about this forum and I am here to check it out. It looks like you have a lot of good info. I am an experienced amp builder. I learned from an old guy who was around in the golden days of tubes. I like to build my own designs, but I have learned a lot from fixing Fenders and other old tube amps. What do the regulars here recommend as the best amp to build for blues tone. I might want to try something you suggest. Ampster

Welcome!
There are over 4000 members here and I would bet that there are over 50 "favorite" blues amps..Most of us here lean toward the Dumble and Trainwreck designs.

The 5E3 Tweed Deluxe is popular, and relatively inexpensive.
I just built one, and put it into a Sunn Alpha 112 combo.
Very nice, and excellent for blues, early rock tones.

What type of blues??
What type of blues do you like the most? I have hundreds of recordings of blues and they're pretty diverse.
Do you want a clean BB King, Ronnie Earl tone ........... or overdriven ZZ Top, Sonny Landreth ................. or a Tab Benoit tone ........... Albert King ............ Can you give us some idea of what you're looking for?
With respect, 10thtx

Re: New Guy
keep it simple..... chathode bias.....no feed back.....fixed paraphase invertor
vol. tone......... 50 watts...... it will never be clean but the tone for
early electric blues will be there.... and loud with an efficient spk.

Welcome!
Given your experience...the (amp) world is your oyster!
Many believe that the Fender Deluxe Reverb (blackface, AB763) emboidies the ultimate blues tone. But...so many other circuits can claim the same!
As 10thTx implies...what is your "minds ear" telling you? Given the experience and willingness to share here, it will be a pretty short order to recommend a circuit.
Cheers,
Dave O.
