so how did I do?

Post by Funkalicousgroove »

So this weekend I went to the 09 colorado tonefest, and I brought my first Hi- Plains Drifter (SSS) Justin who put it on was snapping photo's, and I thought it was a perfect opportunity for a laugh!

Assuming that on the foot switch, the first two are for the FET and the Reverb, what's the third foot switch for?

How's the positive feedback loop(s) on that particular amp, more like Carlton/EJ or SRV-ish?

+1 for twinkies... :D

EDIT: Ah... PAB! I forgot those were implemented on SSS.

Hi Brandon,

amp and cabinet look great. But for the breaking-in-process of a SSS it is of uttermost importance to lean on it for (at least!) two weeks not only at a certain angel (perfect, as far as I see!) but with a certain impact too! So the right brand of twinkies is essential. But beware and stay away from NOS twinkies.

Congrats and all the best

Awesome! Is that a 150 watter? Very exciting to see an authentic looking SSS clone.

I happen to have some NOS Ho-Ho's, and Zingers (Raspberry of course!) but I can't seem to locate any NOS twinkies!

The amp is based on the Later 150W singers, it has only 1 Local feedback loop, the earlier ones like Henry Kaiser and The one John Mayer has are 100W, those amps have inductors and LOTS of feedback loops.

I like the more "Raw" sound of the EJ/LC SSS than the smoother sweeter earlier ones.

The footswitch functions are: FET, PAB, Verb (Not necessarily in that order)

I'll get some, It's quite a bear to lug around, and I don't have any good recording gear, so I have to take it to a friends house to record it.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
