Re: Power control regulating only the screen voltage?

I have a vvr I would like to use on EL34 power tube filaments. I tried it with a rheostat once with some Kt66s but I couldn't get much range from it. The preamp tubes are on DC. Do I need to heat sink the mosfet? Thanks

Re: Multi Caps in Express Clone

I had a question about grounding can caps in a build and I came across this thread which brought up another question: what are the film caps across the grid resistors for? Thanks.

wellerwellera.....

Weller WPS18MP High-Performance Soldering Iron - piece of crap. The push on tip unit gets hot and expands and FALLS OFF. Needs to come with a free roll of duct tape.

Re: 12 volt supply

12sn7,12sj7, and a 12ax7. Four el84 output tubes using the 6 volt supply from the PT.
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... RadioShack That does look good. Thanks

Re: 12 volt supply

thanks for the replies. The wall wart looked like an easy alternative but if it is noisy I'll go the other route. Thanks

12 volt supply

I have an unused 5v ac supply (rectifier) and I would like to convert it to 12v dc to power one tube that requires 300ma. Would this be suitable? http://www.ebay.com/bhp/12v-dc-500ma-power-supply Could something be rigged up using the 5v ac fairly easily? Thanks for any help.
