Re: Tube Rectifer Plate Voltage Question
Joe, the winding values you measured are reasonable.

Re: Tube Rectifer Plate Voltage Question
To measure the PT secondary resistance just use a multimeter across the winding. (You are measuring the winding's DC resistance, not its AC impedance). The secondary winding should be disconnected from anything else. The 330 ohm resistor on the DC output after the rectifier is just reducing the DC vo...

Re: Tube Rectifer Plate Voltage Question
It will be OK at 350-0-350. Assuming a good tube, should be no problem. Since that is the highest rating, I would recommend calculating the additional resistance you will likely need to add between the PT secondary and each plate input pin. Required total resistance is 300 ohms on each side, as per ...

Re: Koa spears resistors
+1 on the KOA Speers "greenies". I had to buy some from Mouser, relatively cheap, and the other values that Mouser doesn't carry, from Parts Connexion, not so cheap.
MIJ, so good quality.

He should get up off his butt, move out of his parents' enervating free rent & all-found environment, get a job and shift for himself.

Re: Retirement Begins - Day 1
Congratulations Bob! I knew you would love it. I retired almost two years ago now, and I couldn't imagine going back to "normal" life, seems to me there's nothing normal about it. I have found my basic tendency towards idleness (I prefer to think of it more as a contemplative personality) has increa...

Re: Home Baked Real Bread!
That's how I do it, except I do the last rising on a towel sprinkled with corn meal. The corn meal really prevents any burning against the pot.
I used to use King Arthur flour too, that was a good website as I recall, but I haven't seen it in Canada.

Re: Home Baked Real Bread!
What flour do you use? Looks a lot like my loaf, but yours is whiter. My flour is a regular flour mixed with some "gluten flour" and is not so white. Which reminds me of an incident my wife had when she visited Mardi Gras in New Orleans back in '81 with some friends. They were in a restaurant orderi...

Re: Question about heater supply
Yeah, it'll be fine. The EZ81 is a separate cathode and heater design so it works with a regular 6.3V winding. This is why separate dedicated 5V rectifier windings exist on PTs. A lot of 5V rectifier tubes are filamentary cathodes ie the heater filament is also the cathode, so these types need speci...

OK, I get it now. So "very low power settings" is probably off the left hand end of that range shown in the datasheet?

In your situation I would still contact a lawyer experienced in commercial litigation, as Phil says. Title companies use lawyers but they're maybe not usually experienced in litigation I think. Remember you live in the most litigious country in the world! A few $$ to CYA wouldn't hurt. Whoever gave ...
