playing my amp today, turned it off came back an hr later flipped the standby on and nothing the first three el84's were dead ,cold as ice the last one was red plating real bad put some spares in played for a minute and then same thing dead tubes_ help

I noticed that some layouts have a15k resisitor on the input shielded wire running to pin 7 on the v1 and some layouts don't. Why?

Somebody suggested I use a 33k resistor in place of the 15k on the shielded input wire, any thoughts on the tonal difference? or gain difference?

I hate to keep asking the same question so is there any linear pots being used? or are they all audio?

and wow what a crazy baby she is now how do I use this thing on stage?

How important is it?

so what Im hearing is (3) 1 meg audio pots gain, treble, Bass and the rest audio or does it matter if there linear?

just curios why wouldn't you use all audio taper pots?

I have the 53c3 1meg rv4naysd 105a clarostat are you saying I don't want the linear 1 meg right? I couldnt get the gain above 1 before the amp goes crazy hiss loud couldnt use it on stage that's for sure

anybody know where I can get one of these awesome pots with the longer taper?

with a guitar plugged in or not.just barely cracked I would say 1/2 it sounds like my amp is going to explode (hiss) and take out a small village , it sounds scary

the sound would best be described as an 100 watt marshall turned to 10, crazy white noise with or without a cable or guitar plugged in or with a guitar plugged in it's about the same. I could see this thing doing this with the volume on say 7 or 8 but not on 1/2 I guess it's best described as hiss
