Re: The crow express
Thanks again for the kind words. And special thanks to RJ for putting up this nice bundle. I chose the EU PT and the Mercury 3801 OT. The tubes are old ones, 80's brown base Shuguangs EL34 and NOS 12AX7 (Telefunken, GE, RCA). Nice combo. Thanks guys! I may pull the trigger for a Dumble ODS build som...

Re: The crow express
Cool looking build. Nice lead dress and the cab is very well done. BTW, what is the inspiration for the crow? Thanks! The crow was inspired by me liking birds... And they're easy to do... I like wolves too and some guys make my jaws drop when they woodburn them but I can't do that, especially on ch...

The crow express
Hi. This is my second one. A friend of mine heard the first one and decided he needed me to build him one. I got in touch with RJ again (thanks RJ!!!) and I did. I changed a few things from the first one, the main thing being the buss bar that floats above the PEC pots and not through those painful ...

Thanks a lot for your feedback ic-racer! I'm still hesitating between what Dumble model to replicate so that was helpful!

So what is your feedback on this build after five years? Has the tone changed a bit? Are you still happy with the amp? Thanks!

No, definitely not. The best sound I can get is my goal! Thanks to everyone who chimed in. I will get the Precision Power Supply then if the amp sounds smoother and has tighter bottom end with it!

Re: Sourcing the parts...
The cap can in #124 is two 10's paralleled to make a 20. Unless you are hung up on making an exact 124 clone it's much easier and cleaner to use the so-called Precision Power Supply. There is a PCB available, or you can make your own eyelet board. Reducing the reservoir caps from 300u to 220u is no...

Re: Sourcing the parts...
Coming back here after lengthy reading times. I have read the last 40 pages of the Dumble discussion threads and all the pages of the Dumble files. I'm definitely settled on building a replica of #124. However I have spotted two things that tickle me (two for now, more to come surely...): 1. There's...

Re: Head cabinet for CE chassis
Hi. You can also get in touch with Jeff Swanson at Swanson Custom Sound Shop. He is located in MA. He builds pretty great cabs, replicas of real ones and custom cabs as well. The cost for a tolexed Dumble-like head cab with Vox grillcloth is $300.
That's his website:

Hello rogb!
So, have you finished this project? How did you find the difference between the 50w and the 100w?
Thanks!

Re: Sourcing the parts...
To Train lover, I apologize for calling you an asshole. Good luck in your Dumble quest Apologies gladly accepted rogb. I think I'm going to build a 100w after all, the #102 looks good! Damn, #124 as well... Which of all the Dumbles is the cleanest, roundest beast? I have noticed though that the CE ...
