Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
Can someone clarify what they mean by Star Ground? Dave Star Ground.jpg I think I may have found out the specifics on the schematic. Can someone confirm? Thanks, Dave Star Ground Power Caps.jpg yes, that diagram is correct, you'll see the main reservoir caps going to the star ground 4 and the other...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
On my RG174 coax, I just push down the coax a little to bulge it out at the cut and make a gap in it with a pointy pick and pull out the inner part, no untangling needed and I never lose any strands of shield that way. It may not work with all types of coax. That sounds perfect. I will certainly gi...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
OK - first time with Coax. It seems tricky to try and get the shield in a way to not melt the inner wire covering. I think I did OK. Is there some secret to unravel the finger torture wire they call a shield? Mine seems like such a mess. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave Coax 2.jpg Coa...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
Well now I am really excited. My cabinet came in. If you are wondering about the color scheme, it is something I have done with my Bassman and Tweed Deluxe build so they all match. Plus I just love the work at Mather Amps. There quality and price are very reasonable IMHO. They can be reached at http...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
yep...you got it :D sonically they're quite important differences so it's good to note these things. they're easy things to change and experiment with too so bear that in mind. you can also try mixing and matching, so you could have a low plate V1(clean) and a high plate V2(OD) or visa versa. I'd b...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
Yours is going to be a high plate Skyliner, so instead of 100k plate load/1.5k cathode, you will have 220k/3.3k and 150k/2.2k. Your od trimmer will be 100k instead of 346k and od drive will be 100k instead of 250k. Also it wouldn't take much to tweek your circuit to a Robben Ford 102. CW Well I had...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
with regards to grounding it doesn't matter which version it is. HRM;has a separate overdrive set of tone controls on a daughter board low plate/high plate; the low plate has 100k plate resistors the high plate has 150/220 classic/skyliner tone stack; Bass 250k- Middle 100k- Treble 100k skyliner ha...

Re: New Build: Ceriatone Replica OTS 50W
Looks like I need some basic information to see how my build lines up. After reading some of the forums referenced above, it is hard to find some specifics. For example, how do I determine if mine is: Pre-standard, standard or HRM OD circuit? Pre-classic, classic or skyline tone stack? Low plate and...
