how does this version compare sonically to the original Rocket RJ ? Is it darker in tone ? And....isn't that 80uf filter putting a tremendous strain on that GZ34 rectifier bottle ? Max for that tube is 60uf ! I may be wrong or missing something but that looks wrong to me. I never exceed 50uf for tha...

Re: Rocket 4x6V6

Nice clip and playing RJ but I have built a few circuits with 66's in the past and their tone is just not my thing. They are too "round" for my personal taste. Re: Liverpool to Rocket conversion :)

Choke arrived today and I installed it. I also redid the power section and cleaned and organized things better inside. The conversion is now complete and I am most pleased with it. This Wrocket 30 is a wonderful amp πŸ‘πŸ‘

Re: Those that have built a Z Wreck & a Rocket...comparisons?

I went with the Classic tone TW PT and OT. Good iron IMHO. I use CLASSIC TONE on most of my amp builds. They have always worked well for me on everything I build πŸ‘ I am using the 260-0-260 tap
