Re: Best 5e3 tweed deluxe kit?
The good thing is the kit uses the Hammond transformers - as a non expensive alternative reasonably close to the originals - but this is no more a 5E3. Maybe you can look carefully at the schematic and see if and what seduces you amongst the options? While you ask, if I were to order from TT I'd rat...

Re: Ampeg B15N build .. hum
Thanks a lot R.G., for confirming with explanations. I'll try that as soon as possible! Would there be problems if I let it like that, meaning one side ofvthe filament wirining at 1.5V and the other at 4.8V? It appears to be quiet then... That seems fine to me. (provided the voltage between both "si...

Re: Ampeg B15N build .. hum
I've been aware of a similar issue (min hum when humdinger on one side) but don't remember having read about any rationale for that - by the way (sorry for hi-jacking your thread but this matter is of interest to me and maybe you too ... :? ) Something like that - but the "Power Cord Green Wire" bol...

Re: Baffle attachment for dumble-style combo (T-nuts?)
This double row pattern of wood screws seems capable of supporting any overuse...
I should have mentionned that my cabs (but the tweed one) are bolted from the back with wood screws. Simple and efficient, as you usually don't mount/dismount the baffle board several times.

Re: Headcab Liverpool design
Any reclaimed wood (almost) ! Yet it might require more work to rectify/dress/?!. it should be well dry at least. There are so many furnitures left on the sidewalks here that I can't resist and build my cabs out of that. Of course there should be many more desirable options, such as suggested above.

Re: Baffle attachment for dumble-style combo (T-nuts?)
The baffle board will support the speaker so there's some similarity, yes.
If you can get t-nuts and screws of the good length both of the same thread/diameter/size, you should be fine, if I caught it right.
Those reverse thread screws sound clever, by the way.

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild
If you're doing real P2P - not turrets but isolated/boardless ones - I suggest you reconsider moving any transformer especially closer to V1/the inputs.
In either case I'd take much care of Martin's & sluckey's suggestions.

Re: Master Volume in a Fender 5e3 Deluxe??
I also intended to have the amp switched through the VVR pot but got the impressions that it was a bit noisy. Maybe that was just me doing several moves at once in my attempt to reduce the bulk noise... Most likely! I rewired it that way and I did not noticed much difference with a separate switch....

Re: Master Volume in a Fender 5e3 Deluxe??
Managing to sort out every single issue while rebuilding my Tweedle Dee Deluxe + VVR, I'm glad I found these pics I used a 1M Linear pot with a built in SPST switch in place of the stock Power switch. The PCB mounts directly to the pot and the Mosfet. Click "On" then adjust power as needed... vvr-sa...

Re: Fender 600 champion reissue complete rebuild
I would like to hear the Champ with the octal preamp valve... ... & so do I... 8) I've been wishing I could find one reissue model at a fair price for a long time now... Thx for the gutshots. It's amazing to see how these little amps seem to be pis*** off the star grounding theory... :?
