Worst case scenario you could measure heater voltage with the KT66s in the amp. If you get a voltage drop from 6.1-6 3vAC then chances are the heater winding can't handle it.

Mark, he states it in one of his videos, along with many other questionable content. LolMark wrote:Is there a link for that comment. It does sound out there.

Re: Komet K60 or Concord Layout
Sorry mark I was meaning the concorde.
For what it's worth, I quickly modded my K60 build over to concorde preamp spec with the cathode follower.
Oh yeah. Much better rock and roll amp for sure now. Lol. Loving it.

Re: Komet K60 or Concord Layout
What power supply node is the CF being fed from? 3rd gain stage?

Re: Who is Bob Gjika?
Bob Gjika also goes into great length about how you can tap on capacitors to demo how they will sound, that PCB built amps will never sound good in a studio, and that hookup wire in an amp needs to break in before it sounds good.

Re: Komet K60 or Concord Layout
So, just so I am understanding this a little better:
The cathode follower is being fed by the cold clipping stage, and CF output is going into PI input?

Re: John Mayer Signature New Build with Reverb Issue
Did you omit the cut control when implementing the cathode follower driver?

Re: Sonic description of precision power supply
Would it be reasonable to argue that the newer "precision" supply was more about using more common, readily available components?

Sonic description of precision power supply
Like the thread title says, what is the supposed advantage of using this style of power supply? Is running all the capacitors in series and supposedly reducing ESR contributing something to the feel or response of the amp? Just trying to understand the qualitative aspect here. Thanks.
