Re: Komet 60 build
I checked all the topics of komet here, the content about transformer is only heyboer's answer? Why does no one recommend others? I want know which models of hammond or edcor can be use. I contacted edcor and did not get a reply. I hope someone can stand up and help me. Thanks to all the kind people...

About the ground of Mercury PT liverpool CT
Hello everyone. I am building liverpool use Mercury's TW-KF-PT, but there is a problem. 1. I want to use “Orange” 260V and “Green” 6.3v HT. Should “Red/Orng ”and “Grn/Yel” be grounded? Mercury has specifically left a tag on the center tap (according to their wiring diagram it's the CT of the 6.3v h...

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
The 0V circuit common (ground) of your amp should be connected to the chassis using a screw, nut, star washer and solder lug. Surface oxide can prevent a good connection so check that the connection’s resistance is 0 ohms with a meter. Don’t omit a star washer, as they act to cut into the metal sur...

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
Sorry for the wrong description, forgive my English level.
I measured the aluminium case to the ground. It has 39.9vac, 2.13ma
Is it normal?

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
I’m guessing that it screams now! I love these amps. It sounds great now, Reasonable noise levels. For safety, I use a leakage protection switch to connect and wearing insulated gloves . There is one more thing I don't understand. Measuring the bottom case of the chassis, it has 36AVC, is this norm...

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
If there's no current flowing through V2a, how can there be cathode voltage, nevermind that it's somewhat high? Perhaps the 100k plate resistor is wonky, eg really 100 ohms? Well with that voltage you are in cutoff. Are you 100% sure that you have a 10k resistor on pin 3? You should have about 2.8-...

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
I see! Now I think it is 100k resistance damage or poor contact, I will try to replace it and feedback the result, thank you so much!martin manning wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 10:09 am Same diagnosis. There is no current flowing through V2a. Note that the plate voltage is the same as the supply voltage.

Re: Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
Probably nothing to the plate voltage, but it won’t amplify signal because signal is shunted to ground. What is your cathode voltage on V2? What are pin 3 voltages on V1a and V2a? Looks like V2a has a problem though... bad solder joint, wrong value resistor, bad tube or socket connection, etc. What...

Why does my express sound like FUZZ?
For the noise problem can't be solved, I rebuilt one.and I checked the layout 3 times with highlighter. can't connection errors were found. The voltage data was measured and only V2 Pin1 appeared to be slightly above normal. Connected to the guitar, the volume at 12 o'clock can hear a faint sound. ...
