Re: Dumble video/sound clip reference, real Dumbles only please
Max, You can clearly see the slope resistor and that the midcap is the same length as the bass cap. This indicates .05uf. No way that the midcap is a .01, it is too long. I do have pics of a .02uf midcap amp btw. The .02 is shorter too. Scott, thanks a lot, I understand. And because the treble cap ...

Re: Reduce gain on express
Mike,you can calculate this here:
http://amps.zugster.net/tools/triode-calculator
you drop the gain about -10dB
by removing this cap

Re: Reduce gain on express
I simply deleted the bypass cap of the second stage cathode resistor, that did it for me, now I can turn the volume to 11... That would certainly do it. Was a change in tone/feel of the amp noticeable ? I wonder how a 5751 or even a 12AY7 in V1 would work in an Express. It seems to me that this amp ...

Re: 70's Build
marcos,in another thread you mentioned a transition
model without the cap across the bass pot(in Rock mode)
I´ve tried that in my build
http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10395
and I like it a lot!

Re: another 70s style build
Very, nice and clean build! Cannot possibly be your first DIY amp? No,I´ve build a few. I´m running an Amp Repair/Service Shop so there are lots or restauration jobs of vintage amps, but it´s a lot of fun to build one from scratch. This one took me 6 weeks to finish, and best of all,it worked right ...

Re: Ry Cooders Dumble
Probably the borrowed type hehe I saw a documentary about a Dutch guitar builder Flip Scipio in New York. He works for famous people. In it were some interesting interviews and songs. There was also an interview with David Lindley It was filmed at Davids house I think. He (I think together with Jac...
