Re: Favourite speakers and cabs for Trainwreck amps.
My favorite cab for my Express clone is an Avatar ported 2 x 12 bass cab loaded with a Scumback ceramic and a Weber alnico. I have a 10" Weber alnico Fane clone @ 100 watts. I'm going to try it in a Pure 64 1 x 12 type cab with a 10" baffle. I that sounds good I'll work on a combo.

I have a router set up just for dovetailing 3/4" stock. That's its only purpose in life.

If you look at that picture the "lock" is on edge grain. I've never seen a lock miter on end grain. I'd really think that through and err on the side of safe.

Nice tone - A '63 you say? Better measure every resistor in the thing to get the drift values for your build, or it probably won't sound the same - well maybe in 50 yrs it might.

Re: HP 1201A oscilloscope
A retired fellow just north of me has a Tektronics 561A 10mhz dual trace scope for $40 cash and carry. Bell let him have all his test equipment when he retired and it's in very good condition. I think I'll snag it.

Re: New cab for a narrow panel chassis - !solution!
Here's my solution for dealing with the heat - I have octal plugs and new sockets to wire up. It also lets me cut 2-1/2" off the cab. Re: Any reason some of these D mods can't apply to a SFSR?
First off I apologize for being ticked off - tough day yesterday . When I got the amp it was a basket case. The prior owner tried to Blackface it and failed. The mods done so far are minimal, but it sounds very good as it is. I'm looking to put a little more juice in the normal channel really that'...

Check out this Super Reverb conversation. http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25662&highlight=#25662 Yeah that's killer, but I'm looking for upgrades I can do myself that might make it better. Who knows - I might change it back to it's NOW MODDED STATE . You know - the one that SOUNDS VERY G...

Re: Any reason some of these D mods can't apply to a SFSR?
It's a 70 watt UL that has some mods on already. I want to let it be all it can be. It sounds very good, but has not yet reached its full potential.

Any reason some of these D mods can't apply to a SFSR?
I was looking over these at Schematic Heaven and was thinking about applying one to my SFSR. Many of the cap values in mine are the same as a Twin shown in the drawings. Any reason these would not work as shown? http://www.webphix.com/schematic%20heaven/www.schematicheaven.com/dumbleamps/mod1.pdf ht...

Re: I'm Dreaming of a White Halloween
Amazing - we ended up with @ 7" while just over the hill they got 18" and 15 minutes south they got 14". Looks like we dodged another bullet -
