Re: Is a TrainWreck Out of Phase?
The Glaswerks does have a built in Dumbleator not sure if it is the cause of the phase change. It was noticeable that certain harmonics were more active when the guitar was in phase and others when it was out. But I would say that the fundamental note responded more when the speaker and guitar was i...

Re: Is a TrainWreck Out of Phase?
I built a phase changing foot pedal and use it in the speaker line. I only switch while the strings are muted. I can tell a difference usually in the feedback and yes the notes that respond do seem to change with the phase. But after a half hour or less I find that one setting generally responds qui...

Re: Attenuator Information Needed?
The UA was good the Richter was just a bit better. My criteria is how natural does it sound at the lowest setting where the speaker is still working. No attenuator will compensate for using a guitar speaker and guitar speakers weren't designed to be played at low volumes. So I turn the attenuator do...

Re: Attenuator Information Needed?
Can anybody give me input on the Weber "Mass" attenuator with the speaker motor. Are these truly better than like a "Dr. Z Airbrake"? Does anyone have experence using one? I have tried most all attenuators on the market and find the Ultimate Attenuator, which is actually a re-amp, to be the best so...

Re: Best 12" speaker for ODS and Open or Closed-Back Cab
I'm partial to alnico speakers for my Glaswerks. I think they add to the smoothness and warmth rather than fight it like so many ceramic speakers. Fane makes a 100 watt alnico that sounds very good for a 1x12 but my favorite is two Tone Tubbys a H1E and a H1DD. The pair is only rated for 80 watts th...

Re: Unconventional chassis
No just the end caps. They were custom made to fit the GDS chassis. I could make one offs if someone sent me a chassis but they won't be cheap. I can make a one off chassis but I am not gear up for it so they would cost more then you can get elsewhere. Didn't I see a link here to a company that make...

Re: Unconventional chassis
Billet end caps for a GDS head chassis I built into a 18 watt TMB. I just didn't feel comfortable with the open ended chassis and loved the old block ends that Marshall used to use. I have no way of mass producing them so cost is really prohibitive sorry.

The bottom one looks typical of powder coated chassis. Then the lettering is screen printed on top of that. Nice work, thanks.

Re: Stainless strings
They sound thin and bright, they wear out conventional frets faster. They resist corrosion but the tone ages more than a vintage nickel string which starts out warmer. That's how I hear it and why I use an all nickel vintage style string.

Re: Radiospares Transformer
According to Mercury Magnetics, it's their "Radiospares" clone that is used on the Beano album. Model#O45RS-L, 6k6 primary. If that is what they say they are either wrong or simply that is the closest thing they have. The original Series II that was used on the BB LP had the Drake 784-103 OT and a ...

There is a huge love thread for the Virtual Vintage pickups from Dimarzio on TGP. Convinced me to order a set so we'll see.
