And, most of all... Why? Please explain your findings for the benefit of all.

Re: Screen cap size......
My understanding - Sag is when the current demands on the power supply cause the actual power supply voltage to drop - since the power supply itself has some resistance. IOW, if you pull more current through a "choke resistor" Ohm's Law dictates a voltage drop. The same is true when using tube recti...

Around 35ma +/-3 is usually good. Judge by ear once you're in that ballpark.

I think dogears is nearly EVERYONE's mentor - myself included, most definitely. Have you been to his web site and heard his clips? Monster player.
I've never chatted with a less selfish person when it comes to amp info. He's DA MAN!

This is my current plan too. I'd love to NOT be the first to have tried this.

Not to contradict you, but this does not make sense to me. Logically the higher resistance would lead to more sag. Are you SURE about this?Robert wrote:I have now A/B'd 250ohm and 500 ohm resistors instead of a choke. The 500 ohm responds more quickly and the 250 slower, i.e. with increased sag.

That's cool - I already have that one in my plan. Thanks!glasman wrote:The RF mod is simply replacing the choke with a fixed resistor. Makes the amp a little looser. Check the files section, there is a picture of a Dumble that I think has this mod.Gary

Re: 3 Channel Fender/Dumble amp layout/ PICS ADDED
I'm working on a layout now that will have the "just the clean side" of an ODS, switchable with "switchable ODS". My first stage is a cathode follower, to drive the 2 tone stacks more easily. We'll see how it turns out. (of course, I MUST stop getting refinement ideas from dogears that force me to r...
