I don't know about the others. Building them is a lot of work. The guys I biuld for, they apprieciate the tone. Perhaps that's all that matters.

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
If he said, look it's not appropriete to post anything VJ related on this forum, I would be fine with that. If someone said, well the Dumbles and the TW's don't do power scaling, I would be fine with that too. Then I would say, what about regulating the filament power supply to midigate the line sag...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
Ok, you guys don't like each other, but really, this is going nowhere. I realize I have the option of ignoring the thread which I probably should just do but this isn't the kind of argument that results in anyone saying "whoops I was wrong lets make up" or "hey this is silly lets just get along" an...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
It's a tube amp builders community. I build tube amps...... Certain details of my design work belong to my clients who contract my design and engineering services. I share what I can..... I don't post comments usually for legacy designs. I let guys like ZP handle those issues. I do post comments for...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
I never said I was generous. Secondly, I've already put out about as much of my research as I care to. I've seen the prints. I don't do "wideband" pre-amp gain stages. I don't do wideband non-voiced PA power tubes..... I don't do single-stack pre-amp gain channels biased with resistors instead of us...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
Fine. You design something and post it, here... -g He has! Many times over! What have you contributed? I mean besides a polished turd  That's good. That means you two guys will understand this. Scratch build ; 36 watts SE ; stereo ; Electronic Power Scaling ; one KT-88 voiced for bass in paral...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
It is my intention to re-engineer the vacuum tube guitar amplifier. I am designing a new line of guitar amplifiers. I am bringing up and building on my own designs. I have a working power brake, something I don't think even Kevin has a reliable working power brake, and that's just something you are ...

check your e-mail. The schematic has been sent.benoit wrote:How does your dual PA thing work? After the last preamp stage coupler split off into 2 seperate output tubes, seems pretty simple. But how do you mix the signal from the 2 power tubes?

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
Yea! You were a big help in this thread! http://www.18watt.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11799&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Not taking sides here - looks like the thread has been moderated out of existence (like most of the rest of 18 watt  ) Ya, and it was some of the other...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
I'm not trying to take anyone down. You read my initial posts, and it's other people un-corking on me. Besides, I have working prototypes. I design and build new circuits, and then post some of my research on design work for a guitar amp, on "oh my god" post on a public forum that talks about "build...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
That was a kick back responce to all of the flaming I was getting at the time. You should have seen some of the messages I used to get "just" for mentioning adding a screen grid resistor to a power tube. I really got 'nailed" for posting that one.

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
the other amp builders, some of them, they just don't want me on the web. They call me arragant, even when I take time out of my day to provide free engineering support for the amp building community. Now it is true sometimes I will not just give out the "answer" just right away, as I would prefer t...

Re: Twin PA Valve Junior with Power Scaling
Why would that be your design goal ? I thought this was a forum for talking about building "tube amps".. I design and build tube amps.. What am I missing something ?????Gary, my design goal is to get you to be LESS forth coming. You just don't understand
