Max h-k for a 6sf5 is 100v.
I'm using 6SF5s because this started as a conversion, and i didn't see any reason not to use them after the concept changed. They seem to be basically half of a 12ax7.

Re: First schem, feedback requested.
I really appreciate you guys taking a look, thank you. The PT is 355-0-355, 100mA. Pilot Light. I was using the 5v tap from the PT for the light out of simplicity. I wasn’t using the 5v tap, so I figured it was easier. I wouldn’t think I’d need an artificial CT just to run the light, am I misunderst...

First schem, feedback requested.
I've just finished my first schematic and was hoping some folks would be willing to take a look at let me know if they see potential problems with it--either mistakes or even just "that's a bad idea" type things. I appreciate any feedback anyone can offer.

Re: Old valve radio
I gutted a big radio cabinet years ago and would stick my amp behind it for gigs.

Re: WAY overpowered PT
It's from the 40s, so I suppose the voltages in the schem were based on 110 power. Hmmm.
I'll need to take some measurements, but I'm thinking new PT might be best. Rats.

Re: WAY overpowered PT
I'll have to do some checking when I get home.
I used 2 1N4007 diodes on each leg of the secondary for the rectifier.
Before I changed it, the secondaries were hitting somewhere around 430v each side.
The original had 2 8uF caps for filtering, I used 10uF.

WAY overpowered PT
I'm working on converting an old Bogen Challenger CH618 (dual 6v6) for guitar. My goal so far has been to get all of the old DC wiring out of there (it was built to take AC or DC input power) and to get it running. I changed all the caps and rewired the tube rectifier (a 7z4) to SS as a temporary fi...
